Activo P1: Hi-res music player from Astell & Kern

Activo P1

Astell & Kern will be at High End Munich next week and will not only show the  brand new SP3000T  but will also bring news from subsidiary brand Activo in the form of the Activo P1 digital audio player.

Activo is therefore not a model or series from Astell&Kern, but a second audio brand from the South Korean company. A subsidiary brand of A&K, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle – with music as a companion on that journey. “With Activo, music is not just a background; it is the force that drives your life forward,” says the A&K team. After an internal rebranding, the P1 is Activo's first new product introduction since the  C10  was first presented to the audio world at the CES in Las Vegas five years ago.

Introducing Activo: the P1 hi-res music player

The Activo P1 digital audio player offers premium sound reproduction of a wide range of music formats, including high-resolution FLAC and DSD, and has been tuned by the high-resolution audio experts at Astell&Kern. The P1's compact design allows users to play lossless music with one hand while exercising, running, walking around the neighborhood or commuting.  With an octa-core processor, the P1 offers a smooth, fluid user interface with up to 20 hours of continuous music playback.  Dual-band Wi-Fi and support for the most popular music streaming apps allows users to easily stream their favorite music.

you seem to be complaining the this Digital Audio Player, DAP, designed for a mature market which wants, umm, high quality digital audio to be played, streaming eg through tidal, or on a card to typically wired IEMS or headphones, isn't something else. AA batteries, what did you buy a load for your tv remote in 1997 Record ? Mic ? Speaker ? There isn't a cassette-tape slot either….
