Samsung has unveiled the new\u00a0Premiere 7\u00a0(LPU7D) and\u00a0Premiere 9 (LPU9D\u00a0)\u00a04K ultra-short throw projectors\u00a0, with the latter succeeding the popular\u00a0Premiere LSP9T\u00a0\u00a0from 2021. According to Samsung, both models can\u00a0\u201ctransform any living space into a premium home theater\u201d<\/i>\u00a0thanks to their top-notch picture and sound performance. These 4K projectors support HDR video in HDR10 and HDR10+ formats, with brightness of 3,450 ISO lumens for the Premiere 9 and 2,500 ISO lumens for the Premiere 7. Samsung claims that both models deliver \u201cclear and dynamic visuals,\u201d with the Premiere 9 covering an impressive 154% of the standard DCI-P3 color space, while the Premiere 7 covers 100%. The larger model is capable of producing an image size of 130 inches, while the smaller one is 120 inches.<\/i><\/p>\n

The new projectors feature Samsung’s proprietary picture-enhancing technologies developed for the 2024 TV lineup, including Vision Booster and AI Upscaling, which use artificial intelligence algorithms. The former controls brightness and contrast based on the ambient light in the viewing room to ensure the best picture quality, while the latter upscales incoming material to\u00a0“stunning 4K resolution, regardless of its original quality<\/i>\u00a0. ”<\/p>\n

The Samsung Premiere 9 projector has a 40-watt, 2.2.2-channel system with two upward-firing speakers, while the Premiere 7 has a slightly less powerful 30-watt, 2.2-channel system. Both models support Dolby Atmos soundtracks, and Samsung says they deliver a\u00a0\u201cvast dome of sound<\/i>\u00a0. \u201d<\/p>\n

The new Samsung Premiere 9 and Premiere 7 projectors run the company’s Tizen OS Home operating system, which means they should perform almost identically to Samsung’s smart TVs. Popular streaming apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney Plus are supported, while gamers can take advantage of built-in apps to stream games without having to connect a console.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Premiere 7 and 9 projectors can be used as wireless smart speakers with voice control when not in use for viewing. While Samsung hasn\u2019t explicitly listed which voice assistants are supported, it\u2019s safe to assume it will be its own Bixby and Amazon\u2019s Alexa. The manufacturer also said that\u00a0\u201cvarious music apps\u201d<\/i>\u00a0will be supported .<\/p>\n

The new Samsung Premiere 9 and Premiere 7 projectors will look familiar to anyone who owns a previous-generation Premiere projector. They feature the same rounded design with high-quality fabric coverings from Danish textile company Kvadrat throughout. Samsung promises an intuitive setup process that allows users to get started watching their favorite content almost immediately.<\/p>\n

The Samsung Premiere 9 and Premiere 7 ultra-short throw projectors are now available in the US, Canada and China, with other markets set to follow later this year. The\u00a0Samsung\u00a0Premiere 9\u00a0has a suggested retail price of\u00a0$6,000\u00a0.
