The Korean electronics manufacturer released the new LG UP76 series in the spring of 2021. The models are supplied with extensive equipment.\u00a0The new series of LG UP7600 4K TVs is presented on the market with displays of 4 different sizes.<\/p>\n

In the below LG UP7600 review, using a 55-inch TV as an example, we will try to find the advantages and disadvantages of the UP7600 series in order to understand whether it is worth buying TVs of this series.<\/p>\n

LG UP76 review<\/h2>\n

Design and first impression<\/h3>\n

The LG LG 55UP7600 UHD 4K TV comes in a sturdy box.\u00a0The package, in addition to the TV itself, includes: a pair of feet (may differ depending on the model), MR21 remote control, power cable and a quick start guide.\u00a0LG uses plastic for the case and legs, which certainly doesn’t look as stylish as metal.<\/p>\n

Still, the case is well crafted and has an attractive design.\u00a0Visually, the LG 55UP76006LC TV makes a good impression, despite the fact that it looks quite simple.\u00a0If you need to mount the UP7600 to a wall, use the VESA mount 300 x 300 mm (for 55 ” diagonal).<\/p>\n

The supplied remote control does not look good and is very user-friendly, but it works fine.\u00a0For use in the SmartTV area, it is recommended to use a CSL Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad to be able to navigate the streaming service interfaces more easily and quickly.\u00a0This keyboard is sold separately.<\/p>\n

Equipment<\/h3>\n

Compared to other models in this price range, LG has quite extensive equipment in the package.\u00a0The\u00a0webOS 6.0-<\/a>\u00a0based SmartTV interface\u00a0offers a huge set of pre-installed streaming services, media libraries and applications: Amazon Prime Video, Disney +,\u00a0Netflix<\/a>\u00a0, and other streaming services.<\/p>\n

It is also possible to install other applications and services.\u00a0Voice control is also provided.\u00a0Unfortunately, this option will only become available after purchasing the LG Magic Remote, which is not included in the package.<\/p>\n

Image quality<\/h3>\n

The 55UP76006LC TV has a 4K LCD panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is backlit by Direct LED\u00a0backlighting\u00a0.\u00a0The model is equipped with HDR standards such as HDR10 and HLG.\u00a0However, a low peak brightness value will not allow the user to get the proper quality from watching such content.<\/p>\n

Typically, these TVs have peak brightness in the 270 to 310 nits range.\u00a0During video playback, there are eight different modes to choose from: Standard, Economy, Vivid, Sports, Cinema,\u00a0Filmmaker Mode\u00a0, Expert Light Room, and Expert Dark Room.<\/p>\n

Overall, LG TV delivers vibrant, natural colors and tremendous depth of field.\u00a0Small imperfections can be seen when depicting bright objects against deep black backgrounds.\u00a0The UP76006LC does not have local dimming.\u00a0There is only LG Local Contrast backlight optimizer, which is not enough for good contrast.<\/p>\n

The 55UP76006 TV uses\u00a0an IPS matrix\u00a0, which has a much lower native contrast than the VA matrix.\u00a0As a result, the black area most often looks dark gray.\u00a0This is especially noticeable when viewed in a dark room.<\/p>\n

A rich selection of color settings somewhat smoothes these shortcomings.\u00a0Depending on your taste, you are sure to find the setting you want.\u00a0In general, the UP7600 TVs are capable of reproducing quite good quality after\u00a0picture adjustments\u00a0.<\/p>\n

Sound quality<\/h3>\n

When it comes to sound, a flat-screen TV at this price point doesn’t have much sound quality.\u00a0This is not possible due to its design.\u00a0However, compared to other TVs, the LG 55UP7600 in question has a pretty good balanced sound.<\/p>\n

The two 10W speakers each have enough power to provide good sound for everyday TV viewing.\u00a0As for the audio quality, it will be lacking when listening to music programs, as well as when watching movies with multichannel sound.<\/p>\n

The main disadvantage is the lack of low frequencies.\u00a0Lovers of high-quality sound are recommended to get an external soundbar.\u00a0For example, the\u00a0LG SN6Y soundbar\u00a0delivers\u00a0420W\u00a0total power and has a wireless subwoofer.\u00a0If desired, you can connect it to your TV and operate it with the TV’s remote control.<\/p>\n

Connections<\/h3>\n

As for the set of connections, the manufacturer LG in its seventh series 2021 TVs left only the most necessary connectors.\u00a0The device does not even have RCA inputs, let alone a 3.5 mm line-out for connecting headphones.\u00a0The patch panel has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports.<\/p>\n

The second port is equipped with an\u00a0eARC\u00a0audio return channel\u00a0.\u00a0Also on board are: 1 USB 2.0 port, a LAN RJ45 line-in for connecting to the Internet, an antenna input, a slot for paid channels and an optical TosLink output.\u00a0Wireless connections are made via Bluetooth v5.0 and Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

For a relatively low price, the new LG UP76 has a decent package. The TV has a clear, sharp picture with vivid and realistic colors.\u00a0A triple tuner, voice control and a wide range of applications are also among the pluses of this TV.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the UP7600 does not have a complete set of connections, unlike the more expensive models from the same company.\u00a0The absence of the Magic Remote in the bundle can also be considered a disadvantage.\u00a0In general, the LG UP76006 TV has a good value for money, and this is its main advantage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
